About Us

The Malaysia Society of Interventional Pain Practitioners (MSIPP) is a professional medical organization dedicated to the advancement of interventional pain management in Malaysia. It was established in 2007 and is registered under the Malaysian Registrar of Societies.


The mission of MSIPP is to promote the highest standards of interventional pain management practice, education, research, and advocacy in Malaysia. The society aims to provide a platform for pain management specialists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to network, collaborate, and share knowledge and best practices.


MSIPP organizes various educational and training programs, workshops, conferences, and seminars for its members, to enhance their knowledge and skills in interventional pain management. The society also collaborates with other local and international organizations to promote the field of pain management in Malaysia and improve patient care.


MSIPP is affiliated with the International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS) and the World Institute of Pain (WIP). The society also maintains close ties with other pain management societies in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world.


The Malaysian Society of Interventional Pain Practitioners (MSIPP) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2008. Its primary objective is to promote and advance the field of interventional pain management in Malaysia.


MSIPP was founded by a group of interventional pain physicians who recognized the need for a platform to share knowledge, experiences and best practices in the field. The founding members of MSIPP include Dr. Gopinathan Raju, Dr. Muralitharan, Dr, Toh Charng Jeng, Dr. Anwar Samhari, and Dr. Lim Heng Hing. 


Since its establishment, MSIPP has played an instrumental role in promoting and advancing the field of interventional pain management in Malaysia. The society has organized numerous conferences, workshops, and training programs to help educate healthcare professionals on the latest advances in the field. MSIPP has also collaborated with other organizations to promote greater awareness and understanding of interventional pain management among the general public.


MSIPP's vision is to be recognized as the leading authority on interventional pain management in Malaysia. The society aims to achieve this by promoting excellence in clinical practice, research, education, and advocacy in the field of interventional pain management.


MSIPP is a professional organization that brings together pain specialists and practitioners in Malaysia to promote excellence in the field of interventional pain management. The society is dedicated to advancing the science and practice of interventional pain management through education, research, and advocacy.


Some of the past activities of the MSIPP may include:


  • Conferences and Workshops: The MSIPP has organized various conferences and workshops in the past to promote knowledge and skills in interventional pain management among healthcare professionals. For example, in 2019, the society organized the "2nd Annual Scientific Meeting of MSIPP" in Kuala Lumpur, which featured a range of talks and workshops on the latest developments in interventional pain management.


  • Training and Certification: The MSIPP provides training and certification programs for healthcare professionals who want to specialize in interventional pain management. For example, the society offers a "Certification Course in Interventional Pain Management," which covers a range of topics such as pain assessment, pharmacology, and interventional techniques.


  • Research and Publications: The MSIPP encourages research in interventional pain management and publishes articles and studies in its official journal, the Malaysian Journal of Interventional Pain Medicine.
